  • When coated in the poison, a dart is capable of killing an animal in minutes and being reused for over a year.
  • Some of the toxins these frogs produce is so powerful that a person can be injured by merely touching the frog.
  • The adult frogs live primarily on the ground; however, when their eggs hatch the tadpole are transported on the back of a parent to a suitable puddle, sometimes in the forest canpy, to mature.
  • Some poison arrow frogs can live for 15 years.
